2013 David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards
We are delighted to announce that the Overall Winners of the 2013 David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards are ...... Archipelago (also Winner of Emerging Social Entrepreneur)! The Winners were announced at a special presentation ceremony on Thursday 17th January 2013 hosted by Mason, Hayes & Curran. Pictured below is John Egan, Managing Diector of Archipelago, receiving the David Manley Awards Trophy from Dr. Chris Horn (Chair of the Judging Panel) and Michael Kearney (Manager of the Irish Rugby Team and Guest Speaker).
Archipelago will receive a total prize worth over €100,000, comprised primarily of mentoring support combined with a cash prize.
The other Winners announced on the day were:
- Emerging Arts Entrepreneur: BlockT
- Emerging Business Entrepreneur: Smart Wall Paint
BlockT and Smart Wall Paint will receive €1,000 in cash and a year's free membership to the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
Winner of the 4th annual David Manley Media Award was Chinedu Onyejelem, publisher of Ireland's multicultural newspaper Metro Eireann Metro Eireann Media and Multicultural Awards (MAMA) to honour people and groups across Ireland (north and south) who work to combat racism and promote cross-cultural understanding. He established the Ethnic Entrepreneur of the Year Awards which were launched by President Mary McAleese in February 2007.
Mentoring support and access to financial and administrative software will also be provided to 9 shortlisted finalists, each representing the most exciting emerging entrepreneurs from the Arts, Business and Social spheres. Click on the video below to find out more about our 9 finalists:
